Late Rovers strike denies Seagulls

02 Oct 2010 - 17:22:47

League One leaders Brighton & Hove Albion let in a late equaliser as they were held to a 1-1 draw at lowly Tranmere Rovers.

Aaron Creswell rescued a point for Rovers with just three minutes on the clock after Glenn Murray's 35th minute goal for the visitors looked to have won it.

Brentford beat Charlton 2-1 thanks to first-half goals from Gary Alexander and Toumani Diagouraga. Scott Wagstaff gave the Addicks hope with a goal on 74 minutes, but it wasn't enough for the visitors.

Craig Mackail-Smith scored the only goal of the game to give Peterborough a narrow 1-0 away win over Carlisle.

Dagenham & Redbridge conceded a goal in the first minute against Swindon, but came back to win 2-1 thanks to goals from Damian Scannell and Bas Savage. Thomas Dossevi has put the visitors ahead early on.

Jamie Cureton netted the winner for Exeter against Rochdale, he scored the only goal of the game early on in the second half to secure all three points.

Bristol Rovers beat ten-man Huddersfield thanks to a goal from Will Hoskins four minutes into injury time. Jamie McCombe was the player to see red just before the end of the 90 minutes.

An Angelo Balanta goal on 66 minutes earner a point for MK Dons at home to Colchester. Magnus Okuonghae had put the visitors 1-0 up after 26 minutes but they couldn't hold on for the win.

Ten-man Notts County succumbed to a 2-0 defeat at home to Sheffield Wednesday. Marcus Tudgay got the opener before Alan Judge was sent off for the Magpies, substitute Darren Potter made sure of the points six minutes into stoppage time.

Oldham drew 1-1 at home to Leyton Orient, Chris Taylor scored for the hosts before the break but Scott McGleish levelled with 11 minutes to play, neither side could find a winner.

Leon McSweeney scored the solitary goal in the game between Plymouth and Hartlepool, to give Pools the three points.

Two Rickie Lambert penalties were enough to give Southampton a 2-0 win over Bournemouth, Adam Smith was sent off late on to round off a miserable day for the visitors.

Adam Virgo netted the only goal of the game to give Yeovil Town a 1-0 away win at rock-bottom Walsall.
