Kuipers pens Seagulls deal

Brighton & Hove Albion have agreed a new one-year contract with veteran goalkeeper Michels Kuipers.

Kuipers, 32, has signed a new 12-month deal with the option for a further year, despite being restricted to only 18 first-team appearances last term following the arrival of Scott Flinders on loan from Crystal Palace.

"It's down to Michel to re-establish himself as first choice," Seagulls boss Dean Wilkins told the club's official website.

"We want strong competition in all areas of the pitch, then it's down to the players themselves."
