    Hammond happy at home

    31 Oct 2007 - 15:49:32

Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Dean Hammond is set to pledge his long-term future to the League One club.

The 24-year-old's current deal runs out at the end of the season, but Hammond doesn't expect to be moving anywhere else in the near future.

He told The Argus: "We are in talks at the moment. I've sat down with the chairman and the manager. I love playing for Brighton and I want to play for Brighton.

"I love captaining the side, it has been fantastic. I'm a Sussex boy and I am enjoying my football. Long may it continue.

"I'm very hopeful. Talks are going on now and it's all good, all going in the right direction. I cannot see there being any problems."

Meanwhile, the Seagulls fear that striker Alex Revell may need another round of surgery to cure a hernia problem.

Revell went under the knife in the summer, but was struggling during the 2-1 win at Hartlepool United at the weekend.
