Dismissal was right, says Poyet
Brighton manager Gus Poyet felt that referee Graham Scott was correct to make a "very strong early decision" in sending off Portsmouth's Dave Kitson in the Seagulls' 3-1 FA Cup win.Chris Wood opened proceedings for Brighton before Ashley Barnes added a second from the penalty spot as a result of Ibrahima Sonko's handball.Substitute Tom Kilbey responded for Pompey two minutes from time but Francisco Sandaza wrapped up the victory with a stoppage time strike. Pompey striker Kitson was red carded after only 14 minutes for elbowing Seagull's defender Adam El-Abd.Poyet said: "The sending off made it easier and it was the right decision. It's too easy to blame the referee. The idea was to compete 11 v 11 for 90 minutes against a Championship club in a beautiful competition. But in the end we totally deserved to win."A few of our players would prefer to be drawn against a smaller club at home (in the next round)."Fran (Sandaza) is the type of player who scores goals from inside the box. This was a game that we dominated from start to finish."
