Brighton move for Dicker

Stockport County midfielder Gary Dicker has become Russell Slade's first signing as Brighton manager after moving to the Seagulls on loan until the end of the season.

The Ireland Under-21 international had featured regularly for Stockport but has fallen out of favour in March and with Brighton paying a fee for his services, County felt they could let him leave.

"We've been aware of Gary's quality since watching Jim McNulty at Stockport earlier in the season. He is calm on the ball, commanding and plays a pass," explained Albion chairman Dick Knight.

"Russell was keen to bring him here and we've been able to persuade Stockport and help them a little financially at the same time."
