Albion extend Westlake stay

Brighton & Hove Albion have extended the loan of Leeds United midfielder Ian Westlake until the end of the season.

The 24-year-old midfielder has made six appearances for the Seagulls since joining on an initial one-month deal last month and will remain at the Withdean should the promotion-chasers secure a play-off berth.

"It's good to have got it finalised now because the deadline has gone there was nothing else we could do," manager Dean Wilkins told the club's official website.

"Ian has already shown he brings a balance to the side, for the obvious reason of being left-footed.

"However, he also brings an enthusiasm and a personality as well which fits in well with the club."
