Young Seagull flies the nest

Brighton manager Steve Coppell has allowed promising youngster Shaun Wilkinson to join Dr Martens' League side Havant & Waterlooville on a month's loan.

The 22-year-old has been on the fringes of the Seagulls side for some time but has failed to break into the first team.

Wilkinson is expected to make his debut for Havant on Saturday against Grantham Town.

Coppell has already allowed other fringe first-team players Dan Marney, Carl -Wilson-Dennis and Dan Beck move to non-league teams on loan in a bid to let them gain some experience.
