Wilkins steps up loan bid

Brighton boss Dean Wilkins has stepped up his search for new loan players after skipper Dean Hammond and Andrew Whing joined the growing injury list on Saturday.
Hammond picked up a groin injury, while Whing was forced off with an eye problem during the 1-1 draw against Northampton at the Withdean, which leaves the Seagulls with 11 players doubtful for this coming Saturday's trip to Huddersfield.
Wilkins told the Evening Argus: "We've just got to try and get some bodies in and do our best under the circumstances.
"Seven of the squad were playing in the U19s last year.
"It's not through choice and we are scouring England to try and freshen the squad up and add a bit of strength in depth."
