Brighton chairman Dick Knight has hinted that caretaker boss Dean Wilkins could be handed the managerial role on a permanent basis.
Wilkins has guided the Seagulls to seven points from a possible nine since Mark McGhee left the club earlier this month and watched his side thrash Leyton Orient 4-1 last time out.
Knight told the Brighton Argus: "So far so good. I've always thought there could easily be a honeymoon period. It often happens with caretaker managers coming in, particularly because they're from existing staff.
"Obviously, both of the Deans (Wilkins and assistant Dean White) are very well known by all the players and they're very popular so they've pulled out the stops for them.
"What we now have to see is continual progress and improvement, but they are setting out to prove to me I don't need to look elsewhere."
