Brighton midfielder Paul Reid's season looks to be over after he ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament.
The Australian suffered the injury when his studs got caught in the turf during the first half of Albion's 3-1 loss at Carlisle United last weekend.
He now faces surgery followed by a rehabilitation period of between six and nine months.
Seagulls physio Malcolm Stuart told the club's official website: "We watched how the injury happened on the match video and you can see his body weight go over the knee.
"The scan results then confirmed he had ruptured his ACL.
"He will need an operation but we need to let the knee settle down and then build up the movement first."
