Seagulls swoop for McFaul

Brighton have agreed a deal to sign Shane McFaul from eircom Premier League side University College Dublin.

The 21-year-old has agreed to move to the Withdean Stadium on a free transfer until the end of the season.

McFaul spent just over two years with Notts County, making 34 appearances for the Magpies moving to Virginia Beach Mariners in the USA at the end of the 2004-05 campaign.

The Republic of Ireland Under-21 international signed for UCD last year and had a period on trial with the Seagulls before Christmas.

Meanwhile, Albion hope to extend Matt Richards' loan deal with the club until the end of the season.
