Brighton & Hove Albion have completed the £55,000 signing of Aldershot Town striker Jonny Dixon on a two-and-a-half-year contract.

The 24-year-old former Wycombe Wanderers frontman has netted 32 goals in 72 appearances for the Shots, helping the club to the top of the Conference this season.

Seagulls boss Dean Wilkins told the club's official website: "I would like to take this opportunity to welcome Jonny to the club.

"He is an exciting prospect and has an excellent record at Conference level, with almost a goal every two games."

Dixon himself added: "I only became aware of Brighton's interest a couple of evenings ago and it came totally out of the blue.

"I am delighted to have joined the club. Having spoken with the manager I know that he likes to play football and am looking forward to getting started."
