Brighton boss Mark McGhee insisted his side's morale would not be damaged by Sunday's cruel late defeat against bitter rivals Crystal Palace.
A deflected injury-time strike from Jobi McAnuff secured a 3-2 win for Palace at the Withdean Stadium and left Brighton in deep trouble near the foot of the table.
However, McGhee claimed his players would be boosted by their display and that they could approach the upcoming trip to Cardiff with confidence.
"I don't see Tuesday's game as any different," he said.
"It's no less winnable and no more loseable. One of these days we are going to go somewhere and win a game. It could be at Cardiff.
"There will be no residual effects from the defeat. I'm not saying we will go out and definitely win at Cardiff, but whatever happens it will not be as a result of what happened (against Palace).
"We will take the positive things into the game at Cardiff, not the negative things."
