Brighton boss Mark McGhee has played down suggestions that striker Colin Kazim-Richards has handed in a transfer request.
The player, who joined the Seagulls from Bury last season, is reportedly unhappy after being left out of the starting line-up for Saturday's League One opener against Rotherham, in which he was introduced to the action from the bench only to be re-substituted before the end of the 1-0 win.
As a result of Kazim-Richards' poor showing at the weekend, McGhee omitted him from the squad for the win against Gillingham on Tuesday, prompting claims the player has now expressed a desire to leave.
McGhee said: "I can't confirm that. Colin was disappointing on Saturday and I left him out of the squad. That's as far as it goes."
