Brighton and Hove Albion have completed the signing of the Southampton stalwart Jason Dodd.
The 34-year-old has put pen-to-paper on a one-year deal with the Seagulls and is looking forward to his season at the Withdean Stadium.
"At Southampton a few years ago, before they moved to the new stadium, it was all about staying in the Premiership, ready to progress forward," Dodd told Brighton's official website.
"They're looking in two or three years' time to be moving to a new stadium, so everybody's working towards that.
"If I can come along and help in any way, then it will be a bonus for me and a bonus for them.
"I've spoken to Mark McGhee and the chairman and it's certainly going to be a challenge. But I'm really pleased and I just want to get going now."
Dodd spent 16 years with the Saints after moving to the club for a bargain £50,000 from Bath City.
He made 399 League appearances for the club before spending a brief period on loan at Plymouth Argyle last season.
