Coppell's final approach

Thursday Sep 29 2005 15:11

Brighton & Hove Albion boss Steve Coppell wants his players to treat every remaining game of the season like it is a cup final.

The Seagulls face Portsmouth on Saturday, but Coppell does not want his players to treat it as a special match and says he wants the same level of effort from his players for all their games until the end of the campaign.

Albion are battling to haul themselves clear from the bottom of the Nationwide First Division.

Coppell commented: "We have 19 games left and if we treat each and every game as a cup final then we won't go far wrong."

Meanwhile, Coppell has signed Charlton goalkeeper Ben Roberts on a month's loan to replace Michels Kuipers, who has been ruled out for about a month by injury.
