The on-loan West Brom teenager missed Saturday's 2-1 win over Swindon as he was on international duty with New Zealand. Spanish frontman Fran Sandaza was handed a rare start in Wood's absence and he could drop out against the Daggers.
Fellow striker Ashley Barnes remains sidelined with an ankle knock but is expected to resume training later this week. Centre-half Adam El-Abd is close to returning from a hamstring injury but will not be risked at Victoria Road so Tommy Elphick continues at the back.
Midfielder Jamie Smith is still missing with a foot injury and full-back Jim McNulty is out for the season after ankle surgery.
