Taricco set for Seagulls appearance

Mauricio Taricco is making a surprise playing return for Brighton - six years after his last appearance in England. With boss Gus Poyet short of numbers through injury and suspension, assistant manager Taricco, 37, is lining up for the south-coast club's reserves against Gillingham on Wednesday night. Taricco, whose last competitive game in England was for West Ham in 2004, has apparently been impressive on the training ground. And with Poyet short of cover for Marcos Painter at left-back, Taricco could yet find himself thrust into the Seagulls' League One campaign. Poyet has also handed a trial to 33-year-old Spanish midfielder Diego Camacho.
