Brighton assistant boss Mauricio Taricco claims he and manager Gus Poyet would have enjoyed playing in the current Seagulls side.
Taricco - who at the age of 37 was on the bench for Saturday's FA Cup draw against Woking - and Poyet have guided Albion eight points clear at the top of League One ahead of Saturday's trip to Hartlepool.
"It's early days to say we have achieved anything but we are making good progress," said the former Tottenham defender.
"We are playing a style which myself and Gus enjoy watching, and we would enjoy playing if we were playing.
"We have taken some big steps forward but there is still a long way to go."
