Slade upbeat ahead of Pools clash

Slade led the Seagulls to last season's 'great escape', when they avoided the drop on the final day of the campaign.

But despite plenty of pre-season optimism, this term has not started well and Brighton find themselves back in the relegation zone ahead of Saturday's visit of Hartlepool.

Former Yeovil boss Slade said: "I have done over 400 games now. It's not where I want to be. More than ever I want to be successful at this club.

"Things aren't quite going our way at this moment in time but you have got to be strong enough to turn things around. If I wasn't strong enough, we wouldn't be in this league, would we?"
