Slade: Monkey off our backs now

A late goal from veteran striker Nicky Forster gave Albion a 1-0 win after a slow start to the campaign following their escape from relegation on the final day of last season. "It's really pleasing to get that monkey off our backs." said Slade. "Now we can take heart from our last two unbeaten games and we'll be going to Carlisle in our next game with a little bit more confidence. "We are by no means the finished article but there are some good signs for us. There's a long way to go and we won't be getting carried away." Slade cited patience as the key to breaking down a stubborn Wycombe side at the Withdean Stadium. He added: "Facing 4-5-1, and men behind the ball, we had to grind it out. We were nice and solid when we didn't have the ball and I felt there was a goal in the game for us."
