Slade issues plea for fan support

The Seagulls' hopes of a positive response following the 7-1 mauling at Huddersfield were wrecked as Stockport pulled off their first win of the season with midfielder Carl Baker grabbing a hat-trick. Brighton finished with nine men following the sendings off of defender Tommy Elphick and Colin Hawkins, while veteran striker Nicky Forster also had a 49th-minute penalty saved. Slade said: "The message to the fans is for them to stick by us. "We're off the mark in terms of goals scored and eventually we'll get the defensive side right. Our first win will then be just around the corner."
