Slade hails Seagulls "lifeline"

Lloyd Owusu, on loan from Cheltenham, headed in Gary Borrowdale's free-kick 11 minutes into the second half to leave the Seagulls three points from safety. "We showed a lot of character and it gives us a lifeline," said Albion manager Slade. "Colchester had a different shape to what we expected. I thought that the game was a bit messy in the first half from our point of view and Colchester had far too much possession for my liking. "While it's still 1-0 it's very tense and the four minutes added on at the end felt like a lifetime."
