Slade ends interest in Ricketts
But fellow trialist Alan Navarro went a long way to earning himself a permanent deal at the Withdean with a fine display in the 2-0 friendly win over AFC Wimbledon.
"Alan Navarro has got know-how," said Slade.
"He might not be the most athletic man, and to be honest he hasn't done any pre-season training.
"He knows where the ball is going and he knows where to be. When he is on the ball his decision making is the right one 95% of the time."
Kevin McLeod and Adam Virgo were the men on target for the Albion.
