Slade: Changes have to be made

21 September 2009 14:11
Slade was seething after Brighton's 3-2 home defeat to Southend at the weekend, with Tommy Elphick picked out by his manager for particular criticism. And with fixtures against high-flying Bristol Rovers and MK Dons in the coming weeks, Slade is anxious to eradicate any weak links in his defence. Asked how difficult it is to cut out defensive lapses, Slade told The Argus: "That's simple, change personnel. "Lapses of concentration cost us. That is just not good enough, that is not going to take us where I want to be or where the football club needs to be and that has got to change. "There are people kidding themselves. I've got a changing room full of a lot of players really wanting to do well. There is no doubt about that but some of them are going to clearly get left behind."
