Right-back Whing was named Albion's player of the year and strikers Hart and Owusu - who is currently on loan from Cheltenham - also played major roles in helping Brighton escape relegation. Boss Russell Slade will also attempt to sign on-loan Stockport midfielder Gary Dicker on a permanent basis. Midfielders Tommy Fraser and Doug Loft, who were both regulars during Brighton's successful run-in, have been released along with long-serving full-back Kerry Mayo, fellow defender Adam Hinshelwood and back-up goalkeeper John Sullivan. Jake Robinson, Chris Birchall, Seb Carole and Jason Jarrett are also leaving along with youngsters Sam Gargan, Kane Louis, Andy Pearson, Dan Royce and Kane Willis. "There have been some difficult decisions to make and telling players there is no new contract on offer is the most difficult part of the job, particularly for young players and those who played a part in our survival." said Slade.
