Poyet will have money to spend

Brighton manager Gus Poyet will be handed the funds to bring in "six or seven" new players ahead of their return to the Championship. Chairman Tony Bloom is preparing for a busy summer of transfer activity and is casting his net far and wide. "I don't know the exact number but there will be around six or seven players coming in over the next couple of months," Bloom told Albion's official website. "We are fairly open-minded with what we are looking to do, but the obvious place to look for players is the Championship and maybe the odd Premier League player who is coming down a league. "There are obviously some very good players in League One as well, which we will also consider, and we are looking abroad as well."
