Poyet warns off suitors

Brighton manager Gus Poyet has told those Championship clubs chasing his best players he does not intend to break up his table-topping side. The Seagulls extended their lead at the top of League One to four points with a 3-1 win over Peterborough when a host of scouts were present. Norwich have shown an interest in winger Elliott Bennett and Scunthorpe have been tracking top scorer Glenn Murray, but Poyet insists he has no plans to sell. He said: "There were six or seven Championship clubs watching us and I don't like it. I'm sure they're looking at some of our players, but I don't want to sell any." First-half goals from Wood and Bennett put Poyet's men in charge and Wood's second arrived 10 minutes after the break. Striker Lee Tomlin reduced the deficit by heading in a cross from Craig Mackail-Smith and Brighton held off a late Peterborough fightback as both Chris Whelpdale and Grant McCann struck the crossbar.
