Poyet unsuccessful in striker search

Brighton manager Gus Poyet will not have a new striker in place in time for Saturday's trip to Swindon but remains hopeful of adding to his attacking options before the transfer window closes. The Uruguayan has stated he wants to bring in three new players to complete his squad but has missed out on one of his striking targets. "The striker may take a little longer because our original options did not work out for different reasons," he said. "It's so close to the opening game that we don't want to upset the team or make a quick decision which could be the wrong one. "We will continue to look for a striker after the game. I can assure you we are working hard to bring someone in." Poyet is also poised to make a decision on trialists Danny Senda, Paris Cowan-Hall and Ryan Simmonds, who have been training with the Seagulls this week.
