Poyet hails Sparrow

Brighton manager Gus Poyet praised new signing Matt Sparrow after he scored both goals in the 2-1 win at Swindon. Midfielder Sparrow, signed on a free transfer from Scunthorpe, scored in each half as much-fancied Swindon made a poor start to the new campaign. The hosts, who reached the play-offs at Wembley in May, were never a threat until the last 20 minutes when Charlie Austin pulled a goal back. Poyet said: "Matt has been working on scoring more goals from midfield. "He has said that he wants to get more and credit to him for getting forward as often as he did here. "He had been working on his shooting since he joined us and tonight he is a happy boy."
