Poyet focused on striker capture

Brighton boss Gus Poyet is in a race against time to sign a striker before the transfer deadline. Poyet has already used 70% of his budget and believes the Seagulls' chances of gaining promotion from League One hinge on the capture of a new goalscorer. "We need that (a striker) and I think everybody knows we need that," Poyet told The Argus. "Last year Norwich went up with (Grant) Holt. Can we get him? No. Leeds went up with (Jermaine) Beckford. Can we get him? No. "Let's not make it look that we are a very good team when we are not having players that can change games and make you win games. "Everything we have done now is okay but, as you can see, there is still something missing and we need to get it before the 31st of August. "If you go through the years, yes there will be an exception of a team going up not scoring many goals and not conceding many. The rest of the teams that went up had a top striker."
