Knight praises departed Mayo
Mayo, 31, was the last current player to have played at the old Goldstone Ground - which closed its doors in 1997 - and is bringing to an end a 14-year association with the Seagulls.
"It's always sad to say goodbye to players but Kerry Mayo stands out this time," said Knight.
"The last playing connection to the Goldstone, Kerry has served the club superbly, proving himself in over 400 games as an excellent, reliable, footballing full-back.
"On behalf of the Albion fans, thank you Kerry. I'm sure he still has something to give, wherever his career takes him."
