Jake the Wright choice for Seagulls
The Seagulls claim to have beaten off competition from an unnamed SPL club and League One rivals to bring the 23-year-old to the Withdean on a two-year deal.
Manager Russell Slade said: "We had been aware of Jake for some time and we've had some very good reports on him.
"After he impressed last Friday night against us Steve Evans and Crawley kindly allowed us to take him on trial and he has done very well.
"He is a left-sided defender, who can play at full-back or centre-half, he's an excellent athlete and I am expecting that he will prove himself a quality player."
