Gannon leading Seagulls options

Gannon held talks with Seagulls chairman Dick Knight on Wednesday morning and is now the south-coast club's number one choice to replace Micky Adams, who left last week.[LNB]Knight has also met with a second, unnamed contender and is due to speak to a third but 40-year-old Gannon, who steered County to promotion last season and has guided them to seventh this term despite major cash problems, is the stand-out candidate.[LNB]"I had another good meeting with another candidate but I think Jim is edging it. He is the man for us," Knight told The Argus.[LNB]"We had a very thorough meeting and during it he confirmed my best thoughts about him in terms of his perspective on the game. We were in accord on a whole number of things.[LNB]"He hasn't said yes and he hasn't said no. Right now he is undecided. It's a huge decision for him because he has been at Stockport as a player for over 500 games and as manager. That says a great deal about his loyalty."[LNB][LNB]
