The 35-year-old secured the Seagulls League One status with the winning goal in the final-day victory over Stockport before undergoing surgery to resolve a ligament problem. Brighton physio Malcolm Stuart told the club's official website: "Nicky had an operation on Thursday to repair a slight tear in his knee cartilage. "We'll now work with him at the training ground over the next few weeks and we expect him to be able to start pre-season with the rest of the squad. Crystal Palace loanee Calvin Andrew picked up an anterior cruciate ligament in the Stockport clash and Brighton boss Russell Slade added: "We believe everything went well with Calvin's surgery on Thursday and we wish him all the best with his recovery over the next few months." Full-back Jim McNulty is making good progress after having a kidney removed towards the end of last season and should return to the training pitch in August.
