El-Abd out of Cup clash

26 November 2010 13:30
Brighton will be without Adam El-Abd when they take on FC United in the FA Cup second round. The defender was stretchered off after suffering a nasty gash to his thigh during the midweek goalless draw at Southampton and will be out for a fortnight. Tommy Elphick, who missed out at St Mary's through suspension, is available and could step in at centre-half. Midfielder Liam Bridcutt also returns from a ban following his recent red card at Hartlepool. Matt Sparrow (groin) and Alan Navarro (knee) are still missing and West Brom loanee Chris Wood is ineligible, so Glenn Murray will be recalled in attack. Boss Gus Poyet will rest some players again despite needing a replay and penalties to see off Woking in the first round.
