The Irishman, who was on loan at the Withdean towards the end of last season, had been sought after by manager Russell Slade for weeks but the move was only completed on Thursday after lengthy negotiations with County's administrators. Dicker told Brighton's official website, "It has taken a few weeks to get sorted. I was away on holiday trying not to think about it, but I'm just happy it went through in the end and that the gaffer stuck at it. "I was quite confident it was going to happen but I'm delighted to be here." Dicker arrived at the Withdean along with former Stockport team-mate James Tunnicliffe, and the defender has also revealed he cannot wait to get started. He added: "Gary was here at the end of last season and Jimmy McNulty is a good friend of mine, and Craig Davies was also at Stockport. I know Glenn Murray and I'm aware of some other lads from playing against them in the past. So I've got friends down here and I can't wait to get started now."
