Brighton will Bloom - Chairman

21 May 2009 14:25
Bloom takes over from Dick Knight, who has become life president after 12 years at the helm, and has come up with the vast majority of the funding for the club's new stadium in Falmer. Bloom, a lifelong Seagulls fan, is also looking forward to building a successful team alongside manager Russell Slade, who this season saved the club from the drop to League Two. "Dick has done a tremendous job over the last 12 years - there's no doubt that without Dick Knight this club would not exist," said Bloom. "I've had quite a few meetings with Russell and Dick over the last few weeks. I think Russell is a tremendous manager, we've got a great starting point to really push on in the league and I look forward to working with him. "I've got a lot of ideas and I think we've got some great people working at the club. I look forward to working with all of them and I think we've got a really great future."
