Sam Baldock in contention for Brighton return

Sam Baldock is available for Brighton's EFL Cup tie against Reading on Tuesday.

The 27-year-old, who was suspended for their defeat by Brentford and then sat out last week's win over leaders Huddersfield with a minor calf problem, was also left out of Saturday's squad at Burton due to 'tactical reasons'.

But boss Chris Hughton confirmed he would feature against the Royals.

Long-term absentees Connor Goldson, Uwe Huenemeier and Solly March are all in contention to return for the clash.

Reading will be without top goalscorer Garath McCleary.

The winger was sent off in their 2-1 Championship win at Barnsley on Saturday after scoring their first goal of the game.

The Royals manager Jaap Stam has no fresh injury concerns for the game.

Yakou Meite and Deniss Rakels (both ankle) remain unavailable.
