Wigan stunner could help Dale Stephens earn start

Dale Stephens' match-winning 25-yard strike at Wigan puts the midfielder in contention to start as Brighton host Norwich in the Championship.

Midfielder Beram Kayal remains doubtful with ankle trouble, while Connor Goldson should continue in the heart of defence.

Tomer Hemed will come into contention for a start after beating thigh trouble to take a seat on the bench in Saturday's 1-0 win at Wigan.

Defender Lewis Dunk is available again after missing the Wigan victory through suspension.

Norwich midfielder Alex Pritchard and forward Nelson Oliveira will be hoping to retain their places having scored in the midweek EFL Cup defeat at Leeds, where the Canaries were beaten on penalties.

Full-back Ivo Pinto (groin) will be assessed having been a late withdrawal from the squad to play Preston in the last Championship fixture, which Norwich lost 1-0 at home to drop out of the automatic promotion places.

Midfielder Jonny Howson will be sidelined for around two months following ankle surgery.

Scotland defender Steven Whittaker is recovering from a hernia operation while midfielder Youssouf Mulumbu (foot) and winger Matt Jarvis (knee) are both still out.
