Seagulls hoping to shake off bug

Brighton are hoping a virus in the camp clears up ahead of the visit of Middlesbrough.

Defender Inigo Calderon, midfielder Dale Stephens and top scorer Leonardo Ulloa were all ruled out of Tuesday night's 1-0 defeat at Sheffield Wednesday through illness, meaning boss Oscar Garcia could name only six substitutes.

Andrea Orlandi is still struggling with a thigh injury while fellow midfielder Andrew Crofts is sidelined for the season with cruciate damage.

Will Hoskins has suffered a slight setback in his comeback from knee surgery and Craig Mackail-Smith is building up his fitness after a year out with an Achilles problem.

Grant Leadbitter returns to the Middlesbrough squad.

The former Sunderland and Ipswich midfielder is available once again after sitting out the 3-1 home defeat by QPR and the midweek draw at Huddersfield through suspension following his 10th booking of the season.

Striker Kei Kamara will hope to be able to join him as he nurses a foot injury. Kamara took a kick to the foot during the QPR game and missed the trip to the John Smith's Stadium as a result, and he will be assessed before head coach Aitor Karanka makes a final decision.

However, central defender Jonathan Woodgate (calf) remains a doubt, while goalkeeper Tomas Mejias (dislocated finger), defenders Daniel Ayala (ankle), Rhys Williams (Achilles), Seb Hines (thigh) and Stuart Parnaby (knee), and frontman Muzzy Carayol (anterior cruciate ligament) are all out.
