Problems for Poyet

Brighton have problems in defence and attack ahead of the visit of derby rivals Crystal Palace.

Centre-half Adam El-Abd is suspended for collecting 10 yellow cards this season and full-backs Bruno and Wayne Bridge are carrying knocks.

Skipper Gordon Greer, who has been on the bench of late, will step in for El-Abd while Inigo Calderon comes in at right-back for calf injury-victim Bruno.

Left-back Bridge missed Tuesday night's defeat at Barnsley with a hamstring problem and faces a late check, with Marcos Painter recalled from his loan at Bournemouth as cover.

Up front, Craig Mackail-Smith (Achilles) and Will Hoskins (knee) are crocked and Ashley Barnes is suspended so Leonardo Ulloa is boss Gus Poyet's only recognised senior striker.

Palace will be without Stephen Dobbie. The striker is on loan with the Eagles from Brighton and cannot play against his parent club, so Andre Moritz or Kevin Phillips will start at the Amex.

Jazz Richards has recovered from a toe injury and should resume at right-back but fellow defenders Paddy McCarthy and Joel Ward (both groin) and midfielders Owen Garvan (knee) and Alex Nimely (hamstring) are still on the sidelines.

Former Brighton frontman Glenn Murray, who scored when Palace inflicted the Seagulls' first defeat at their new ground last season, starts in attack again looking to add to his 30 goals this term.

Jermaine Easter has joined Millwall on loan until the end of the season.
