Oliver Norwood set for Brighton bow

Oliver Norwood is set to make his debut for Brighton as manager Chris Hughton plans to make a number of changes for the EFL Cup game against Colchester.

The 25-year-old was an unused substitute against Derby on Saturday and should come into the team alongside Dale Stephens, who missed the opening game of the season due to suspension.

Elvis Manu and Danny Holla are expected to be included in the side as the Seagulls boss looks to rotate his squad with the Sky Bet Championship game against Nottingham Forest on Friday in mind.

Connor Goldson and Uwe Hunemeier remain sidelined through injury.

Colchester head coach John McGreal is set to give his summer signings another chance to impress.

McGreal handed debuts to defender Lewis Kinsella, new skipper Luke Prosser, midfielder Craig Slater and forward Kurtis Guthrie in the opener at Hartlepool, which ended 1-1.

Striker Denny Johnstone came off the bench, so could be in contention for a start, along with Dion Sembie-Ferris.

Left-back Matt Briggs remains sidelined with a hip problem.
