Bridcutt banned for Burnley clash

Brighton will be without Liam Bridcutt when they host Burnley at The Amex.

Bridcutt starts a two-match ban after he was booked for the 10th time this season during Tuesday night's 2-0 win at leaders Cardiff.

But fellow midfielder Dean Hammond is expected to be fit despite limping off against the Bluebirds with a knee injury.

Boss Gus Poyet is also set to welcome back three players who missed the midweek victory.

Ashley Barnes returns from a three-match ban, fellow striker Craig Mackail-Smith is expected to shake off a knee niggle and skipper Gordon Greer should be back in defence after a hamstring injury.

Midfielder Andrew Crofts (hamstring) remains a doubt while forward Will Hoskins (knee) is still out.

Danny Ings could return to the Burnley squad.

Ings missed Tuesday night's goalless draw with Middlesbrough due to a hamstring complaint but the former Bournemouth forward is hopeful of making a recovery in time.

Winger Ross Wallace (knee) and Michael Duff (calf) are expected to remain on the sidelines, with Kevin Long well placed to continue in the latter's absence at centre-back having made his first appearance for two months against Boro.

Ben Mee is back in training following medial knee ligament damage but the former Manchester City defender is not yet match fit.

Burnley retain play-off ambitions of their own but two draws and as many losses from their last four games leave them seven points off the pace in 12th.
