Barnes sits it out

Ashley Barnes looks set to miss Brighton's midweek home clash against Notts County. The striker twisted his ankle during the 1-0 victory at Oldham and boss Gus Poyet said he needed "a miracle" for the striker to feature. Fran Sandaza and Gary Hart are in line to replace Barnes, but Chris Wood could be handed a start before he leaves to join up with the New Zealand squad for an international match. Defender Tommy Elphick is back in contention after missing the trip to Boundary Park with mumps, but Jim McNulty (ankle) and Jamie Smith (foot) will both miss out. The Seagulls have won five games on the spin and have kept three clean sheets in a row.
