Alphonse fills Roux gap at Brest

Ligue 1 side Brest moved to replace Nolan Roux after he left for champions Lille on Tuesday by signing French forward Alexandre Alphonse from Swiss outfit FC Zurich.

The 29-year-old - who has scored 55 goals in 166 games for Zurich since joining them from Grenoble in January 2006 - signed a two-and-a-half year contract with Brest.

Roux, 23 and a France Under-21 international, signed a four-and-a-half year contract with Lille having scored 25 goals in 80 appearances for Brest since joining from Lens in 2009.

Brest are presently 11th in the table, six points clear of the relegation places.
