Williams to stay with Bees

Brentford have extended Sam Williams' loan from Aston Villa until the end of the season.

The 21-year-old originally joined the Bees at the beginning of March on a one-month deal as a replacement for the injured Nathan Elder.

The striker has made two substitute appearances for the League Two leaders to date and will now remain at Griffin Park until the end of the season.

He was named in the starting line-up for the Dagenham match on Monday, but the floodlight failure that caused the match to be postponed led to Williams waiting for his first start for the club.
