Bees hit back to stun Saddlers

Brentford produced a superb fightback from two goals down to snatch a 2-2 draw at Walsall thanks to a last-minute goal from striker Clayton Donaldson.

Donaldson was at the far post to head in a knock on from Farid El Alagui from point-blank range and reward the Bees for their non-stop pressure and patience.

Brentford goalkeeper Simon Moore tipped a fierce drive from Walsall's Florent Cuvelier onto the bar in the eighth minute, but the Bees should have been ahead soon after only for Clayton Donaldson to fluff his shot with just David Grof to beat

Sam Saunders connected with a volley which Walsall skipper Andy Butler just managed to flick off the line, before the Saddlers hit two goals in a minute to stun the visitors.

Ashley Hemmings sent a low cross to the feet of Jamie Paterson, who hammered the ball first time past Moore, and almost immediately 20-year-old striker George Bowerman robbed Tony Craig, cut inside and coolly drove home his second of the season.

But Brentford had total control of the second half and when Grof punched a clearance straight to Jonathan Douglas he coolly found the roof of the net to spark the revival.
