Brentford boss Nicky Forster has urged his squad players to grab their chance after key duo Richard Lee and Charlie MacDonald were ruled out of next weekend's trip to Wembley.
Goalkeeper Lee, whose penalty shoot-out heroics played a major part in the Bees' march to the Johnstone's Paint Trophy final against Carlisle, has suffered a dislocated shoulder and 10-goal striker MacDonald has been forced to undergo ankle surgery.
Both players could miss the rest of the season but veteran forward Forster, who refuses to pick himself now he is in charge, feels his squad can cope.
"Both of them have been superb throughout and very influential in the successes that have come our way this season," said Forster.
"It's for this very reason that we operate a squad of players and their misfortune might well be someone else's opportunity which is the harsh reality that all players face."
