Scott promises Elder action
09 Mar 2009 - 11:30:07
Brentford striker Nathan Elder will miss the rest of the season after suffering severe facial injuries in the goalless draw at Rotherham United.
The 21-year-old was left with a fractured eye socket and cheekbone following a clash with Millers defender Pablo Mills, with Bees boss Andy Scott furious that the Rotherham player escaped sanction.
He told the club's official website: "Nathan took the full impact of the challenge on his eyeball. He has no vision in his left eye and is unlikely to have vision for several months.
"Having reviewed the tape I was shocked to see the reason for him fracturing his eye socket and also his cheekbone.
"It was clearly caused by an elbow right in front of the referee, yet no action was taken at the time.
"However, I feel it is my duty as his manager, to the club and to every player, that it does not go unpunished and I will be doing everything possible to ensure justice is done."
Meanwhile, Scott has drafted in Aston Villa striker Sam Williams on loan to cover for the absence of Elder during the closing weeks of the season.
